YVES V, one of today's growing stars, has been enduring the most hectic schedule so far in his career. Just recently, he took the main stages at both Tomorrowland and TomorrowWorld as the festival's head resident. Also, YVES V has been playing numerous clubs around the world without slowing down. Between all these hit shows, he has also managed to release some of the larges songs of his entire career. His new hit “Sonica” can be heard below.
“It’s not that difficult for me, I love what I do. I’m spending every second on my passion which is music, so every free time I have goes to music,” YVES V explained.
The one portion of his career that he has the most issue with is the difficulties of traveling. With this aside, he has explained that he loves to see his music speak to people from all different walks of life. However, like most other artists he started off as an average teen who so happen to discover a passion for EDM.
“I started djing at the age of 14 years old as a hobby and it naturally evolved,” he explains, “”now 18 years later I'm still a DJ and very happy to call this my ‘job'.””
We also asked YVES V how he prepares himself for a large-scale show such as Tomorrowland. The first thing he said at the mention of Tomorrowland was that it's not just a festival for him, it's a “home-match”. He also explained that even though he closed the Dreamville stage on Thursday with Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, played at the main stage Saturday, and on Sunday played a back-to-back set with Regi the only portion he truly prepares is his intro. YVES V stated, “I never prepare too much for my sets besides my intro, I play best when I can interact with the crowd.”
He also went on to say that playing at Tomorrowland was very special for him and that he was very happy to be given the opportunity to play there. However, one other venue had a special place for him which is Guaba Beach Bar in Cyprus.
“It was my first time there but the crowd went nuts,” YVES V stated.
As we concluded our questioning with this icon of EDM, he left us with some advice for inspiring and up-and-coming artists.
“Don’t give up, believe in yourself, try to find your own sound that you believe in. Don’t be shy to learn from other people and ask for advice. And do it with passion for music.”
